Cycie2000 HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM ‘Cycie2000 HAP’

HAP is initiated as the hub or unit of the organization Cycie2000 to assist in the fight against homelessness and problems of accommodation for the youths especially the students, and to provide the low income citizens, especially institutions of higher learning and universities with hostels (Accommodation for the students who are the major beneficiary of this program).

CONTEXT OF THE PROGRAM

According to several studies and statistics, reports shows that the population of students in every community represents about 25% of the general population of that community. In effects, as the number continues to grow up and expand, there is an induced and enormous need in equipment and accommodation.

The crisis of accommodation in universities and higher institutions of learning is due to factors among which we can cite: rarefy of funds for the formal investment in the sector; and the non – implication of the private estate management and consultancy firms to provide accommodations. As a result of this crisis of accommodation, which is closely linked to numerous havoc and crime committed by non-identified and identified students off campus, various community problems are on increased. The imbedded good moral imparted on the students by parents and schools are destroyed and uncontrolled by undefined interactions with unidentified students having bad morals, thereby resulting to social menaces and incessancy disturbances at the expense of the cost of studies on the individual law abiding students. All this sum up to social unrest, killings and all sorts of societal ills.

The real fact is that students are not safe and secure outside the campus and it evolves insurrection, violence, allied practices, inadequacies and frustration. Also, the cost of leaving outside the campus is very – very expensive (high). At the same time, it influences the social, educational and moral characters of the students, which invariably denote poor parents from sending their children to school and equally influences social menaces.

Recognizing the fact that the cost of building left alone on the proprietors of these institutions and government is unbearable and typically difficult, it therefore becomes a concern for any patriotic organizations like ours, to draw our attention on giving aids, particularly to institution of higher learning where characters and virtues of youths are being modeled into maturity for the building of a stable nation.

For this reason stated hereafter, a succinct diagnostic of the finance politics for the provision of accommodation in universities and higher institutions of learning becomes very much explicit.

It is in the light of this, that the organisation Cooperative Youth Club for International Exploration 'Cycie2000' draw the attention of eliminating or reducing this adverse impart / effects of this ills on the community ‘Accommodation problem’ especially in universities and institution of higher learning.

The organization seek to enter into dialogue with Presidents and Vice chancellors of universities, colleges and higher institution of learning, they on one hand will put pay to the realization of the program by making provisions for adequate land, and setting up a steering board between the organization, the financier, and the various agencies that will assist in the realization of the project (from the provision of loan ‘finance’ to the recovering of loan ‘finance’ for the financier within the period stated by both parties). Cycie2000 also seek to work with competent Organisation, Association, Companies, Body and Agency as co-sponsor of the project and as channels through which this project will be realized in arious universities, higher institution of learning and individuals in the community.
